Love, Janis

One of our favorite musicians, Cathy Richardson , is reprising her role as janis joplin in the theatrical production of "Love, Janis"
if you are in the San Fransisco area between now and the end of the month.. or know anyone who is.. RUN to see this show.

Cathy Richardson IS janis.. I once heard her sing a joplin song and all the hair on my body stood up on end.. it is eerie.

MEATFEST!!!

the annual tradition known as Meatfest was a sight to behold.. Boston butts, chicken, ribs, brats.. brisket.. every type of meat you would ever want to be smoked.. and all of it yum-o!~
A friend of mine is what I like to call a competitive BBQ-er.. and he is DAMN good at it.. the best I've tasted. and I have tasted a lot of BBQ. So, on the fourth of July, folks gather from miles around for "Bobby-Q" and fireworks, as they set them off quite close to where my friends live.
The food at meatfest 2006 was excellent as it always is

but it isn't any bbq.. it's a "Big Green Egg" bbq.. if you haven't heard about the big green egg and you like to cook.. you really should check it out. There is a whole like society of "eggheads" who use the smoker/griller to cook just about anything.. including pizza.. it's pretty cool!

Since the big fireworks were rained out, we had some small ones, but meatfest the sequel happens tonight.. more meat. and with any luck at all .. fireworks!

On the health front, the oral surgeon says that my "dry hole" is finally starting to heal..(that was for all of those of you with your heads in the gutter.. for some reason the term dry hole makes people giggle like school girls.
So, my head is finally not hurting constantly.. but it's still not fun after I eat.. I am really hoping this clears up before the kiddies are in town.
so happy weekend.. we are off to clean the house..
Just watched an EXCELLENT movie.. for all my gays!
it's called Latter Days and it is playing on LOGO this weekend. If you have some time check it out.. I happened upon it this morning and it was really a good movie. It's got a great cast, and the story is really good, and I'm sure has happened on more than one occasion. Written by the same guy who wrote "Sweet Home Alabama".
Check it out if you have a chance.
Tomorrow..
WORLD CUP SOCCER!!!!!!
GO FRANCE!!!!!!

Relaxation Vacation

spent the weekend at the lake.. The sunsets were incredible and so Xena and I went down to the dock to watch the sunset!

It's days like this that just make me so happy to be able to witness something so beautiful

After Butter's dad made us a SPECTACULAR dinner! we decided that since it was a holiday weekend and it was late, we didn't want to get on the road with the crazy drunk folk.. so we spent an extra night and headed back to town in the morning.. I was even an hour early for work!

The day droned on, as most people had taken the day off for the long weekend.. but we had plenty to get done for tomorrow, so it was a very busy day.. that for some reason took forever.. After I got home from work.. butter and I decided to have a dinner date at one of our favorite little italian restaurants Bambinelli's
We've been going there for quite a few years and they never disappoint!
I tried to take a photo of the Canolli, cause it is mouth watering goodness! it didn't come out very well though.

but you get the idea.. so if you are ever in the area, definitely stop in and say "hey" to bambi and have a little dinner! it's fantastic.

The tooth is very slowly healing.. the pain is no longer constant.. but it is still pretty painful at times.. I really can't believe HOW much it hurt. I have a pretty high pain threshold.. I can only imagine what it would be like for someone who didn't.. they would be in the hospital on morphine (don't think I didn't think about it at one point.. I am SERIOUS about how bad it hurt.. worse than my back surgery..)
They continue to pack it with nasty tasting medicine soaked gauze.. mmmmyummy!
and hopefully it will be fully healed soon.. thanks to all those who inquired or sent good thoughts my way.. it was and is appreciated.

Hope everyone has a happy and SAFE 4th of July! We are off to our good friend B's house for MEATFEST The 4th of July Edition 2006 Will definitely have photos and I am sure some stories from that one..
Stay tuned.....
