Friday night date throwback!

Last night.. butter and I joined a few friends for the Trader Vic's party at the Starlight Drive In!!
The theme?
Salute to the Beach Party!
But first, the party before the beach party.. This place was ROCKIN! there was a live band and people were cooking out.

cars decorated in the tiki fare and some even brought out the candleabras!

also to really kick it up there was a live band that performed until the sun went down!

Butter had tricked out the SUV to make it drive in ready!

Lots and lots of fun beach party era movie trailers!

Butter had NEVER been to a drive in before.. so this was all a new experience for her.. She had so much fun she wants to go back tonight! don't know if that will happen but we definitely are going to make it out there more often. One weekend a year they have an all weekend event called
DRIVE INVASION!!
There are bands, a car show, appearances by B-movie celebrities, vendors, hula dancers and loads of fun!
Trader Vic's (or trailer vic's as they were calling it last night) were serving drinks in bamboo shoots that looked like cups.. we simply HAD to get one as a souvenir!
it was a little dark and hard to get a picture but here is the big screen!

and here we are enjoying the show.. not a great shot I know.. but hey it's hard to take pictures of yourself!!

It was a FABulous date.. and the crowd was much larger than I expected, and it was a quite diverse crowd at that.. families, goths, gays, rednecks, gypsies, tramps and thieves....:)
We didn't stay all the way through the second show though.. the second feature.. "white savage" just wasn't appealing to us..
but.. scary movie and date movie will be next on our drive in date card! If you have a drive in near you make it a date with the one you love!

Answered prayers.. and a really good song

the best news I could ever give.. Lillian is home..
after some harrowing nights for her parents and I'm sure for her too.. the meds are finally working.. I went to visit her last friday night and she looked like she was feeling much better.. as of this writing.. she is home, after requesting french fries for dinner.. I think everyone knew she was feeling better.
she still has some surgery in a few weeks, but at least she will be stronger then.. and it isn't emergent.
I can't tell you how happy everybody is.
Thank you all for all of the prayers.. from places as far away as brazil and australia.. She had so many people pulling for her.. The complete turnaround in her condition leaves me only to believe in divine intervention.
So thank you all so very much..

and if you havne't heard Pink sing "Dear Mr. President" I HIGHLY suggest you check it out.. Rosie O'Donnell used it as the background to a video she did.. you can hear the studio verion (with the indigo girls backing vocals) HERE

if you would like to see the live performance go HERE
it would be so great if on one day at a specific time.. EVERYONE who questions what this administration is about would BLARE this song from every car, house, business in the US..

prayers and good thoughts..

Don't know how many of you are they praying type, but if you could say one for her, or at least send some good thoughts or karma out there, I'm sure her family would very much appreciate it.
so if you get a second, please say a lil prayer for lilli..thanks

easter baby!

This is the photo we are hoping for in about 3 years.. in the meantime we take pictures like this.... spent a wonderful afternoon with our friends and their brand new daughter, who looks more beautiful every day. She is absolutely amazing.. and 4 grown adults could do nothing but look at her in amazement and wonder. In addition to fawning over ever coo and movement.. what a wonderful world. what a glorious child. We are so very lucky to be a part of something so grand.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter and a great weekend...

Welcome to the world little one!
Your Aunts Biscuit and Butter can't wait to see you!
You have the best moms ever.. You are very much loved and we promise to always be there for you and help you grow into the wonderful person that you are.

Spring has Sprung!

and so has the pollen!
I have been having the worst allergies for the past couple of weeks.. which has turned into a raging sinus infection.. which sounds all nice and yummy cept it's settled in my ears.. so my equilibrium is way off.. you might as well call me "wobble" cause that's what I've been doin.
Haven't been around much as I have mostly been hangin our on my buddy Ross Mathews' blog..

Anyone who watches the Tonight show with Jay Leno, would know Ross from his celebrity segments and various other amusing bits that he has done over the years. He totally cracks me up and I love reading his musings every day!
So check him out!
There is all kinds of political bullshit going on, but I am saving that for another day.. So head out and enjoy the spring.. just make sure you flonase before you do!
My truck is a nice shade of yellow from all of the pollen.. it's everywhere.. you can't avoid it!
I never had allergies till I moved to Georgia.. now not a season goes by where my eyes don't water for a reason other than a sappy movie!
peace out
